Remote Learning

In an effort to avoid losing instructional time, our teachers and instructional teams have been planning and preparing remote learning experiences for our students while schools are closed.  These academic assignments are provided to support and reinforce student learning.

All teachers will hold office hours from 10:00 am - 12 pm and will be available via email for questions, accommodations, modifications  and support.

Students may report technical issues with their Chromebooks at - https://www.gilmerschools.com/students/other/login_to_student_help_desk

In the event of extenuating circumstances, students in all grades will have up to five days after our return to school to submit assignments.

PK-5th Grade

Elementary students are not expected to work online: a packet of assignments for each grade level was sent home with your child.  These packets include materials for up to ten potential days out of school, though we may not miss that many days. In addition to the physical packets sent home, the packets are posted by grade-level on the district’s website.

Elementary students are expected to complete 30 - 60 minutes (but no more than 90 minutes) of academic work for each day school is canceled. In addition to the physical packets, students are highly encouraged to read daily at least 20 to 30 minutes.

6th - 12th Grade

Students in grades 6 - 12 will complete their work online, as they have devices in our 1:1 program.  Students in grades 6 - 8 are expected to complete 1 hour - 2 hours (but no more than 3 hours) of academic work for each day school is canceled. Students in grades 9 - 12 are expected to complete 2 hours - 3 hours (but no more than 4 hours) of academic work for each day school is canceled.
