Kindergarten Screener: The WIDA Screener for Kindergarten is an individually administered paper-and-pencil test that helps educators identify students as English learners (ELs). It is typically given to students one time when they start kindergarten or first grade.
WIDA Screener: The WIDA Screener is an assessment tool, used by educators to measure the English language proficiency of students who have recently arrived in the U.S. or in a particular district. This screening tool is used to determine whether or not a student is eligible for Englishlanguageinstructional services.
ACCESS: ACCESS for ELLs is administered, annually, to all English language learners in Georgia. It is a standards-based, criterion referenced English language proficiency test designed to measure English language learners' social and academic proficiency and progress in English. It assesses social and instructional English as well as the language associated with language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies within the school context across the four language domains of speaking, listening, reading, and writing. ACCESS for ELLs meets the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 mandate requiring states to evaluate EL students in grades K through 12 on their progress in learning to speak English.
Alternate ACCESS: The Alternate ACCESS for ELLs is an assessment designed for students in grades 1 -12 who are classified as English language learners (ELLs) and have significant cognitive disabilities.
