The goal of coaching in the Gilmer County School System is to support teachers as they improve their content knowledge and understanding of what is effective instruction and how children learn. In order to maximize the effectiveness of this initiative, coaches will work directly with teachers in the classroom, analyze teachers’ needs, collaborate on interventions, provide professional development and build a network for change resulting in improving student achievement.

The Curriculum and Instruction Department for the Gilmer County School System coordinates and oversees all aspects of Curriculum and instruction for Pre-K through 12th grade. Our goal is offer the best instructional programs possible for our students and the Most up-to-date professional learning for our teachers and staff Members.
Gilmer is committed to the development of a system-wide curriculum that promotes high expectations for its teachers and students and results in meaningful student learning.
The Instructional Technologist serves the schools and district by providing professional development for teachers, staff, and administrators to ensure student access to technology that supports innovative instruction. To maximize teacher effectiveness at it relates to curriculum, instruction, and assessment, the instructional technologist works in collaboration with technology, curriculum and other curriculum/instructional leaders.
